Four podcasts that will almost definitely boost your productivity this year
Even having Greg James at the helm couldn’t tempt us to tune into Radio 1 on our morning commute because 2019 is all about the podcast. We say 2019, but truth be told we’ve been podcast mad for months, carefully curating our list of must-listens since the big hitters started streaming their business secrets into our ears on a weekly basis. We even created our own, dishing up insightful, inspirational and at times hilariously inappropriate conversations that encourage you to reflect, rebalance and recharge, without taking things to seriously. Anyway, more on that later; in the meantime, here are our favourite four podcasts, each almost guaranteed to boost your productivity in 2019.
HOW I BUILT THIS
If you’re obsessed with finding out how some of the most successful and game-changing businesses in the world came to be, How I Built This will scratch the itch with all the juicy insight for the founders themselves. There’s barely an entrepreneur worth their salt who doesn’t appear on the How I Built This podcast reel, from Airbnb’s Joe Gebbia to the inimitable Richard Branson and Kickstarter’s Perry Chen. It’s free business advice from the best out there and who wouldn’t want to hear that?
THE TIM FERRISS SHOW
He’s the man behind The 4-Hour Workweek, one of our favourite business books and a bestseller for a reason, so it comes as no surprise that Tim Ferriss is smashing it with his podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show. Expect everyone from supermodels to super-successful investors on the list of interviewees, each of them poised to reveal the secrets to their successes. If you thrive on noseying into the routines of the rich and famous, this podcast will tell you what makes them tick, sharing the tips and tricks that could see you replicate their successes even a little bit.
Daniel Priestley’s 24 Assets has changed the way we do business and the man behind the book brings his no-nonsense approach to branding and leadership to the masses with Dent, helping businesses scale up and think big. Hosted by Dent Co-Founder Glen Carlson, The Dent podcast makes it easier to #makeadent with practical advice on subjects like pitching, PR, converting sales and creating content. If you’ve got your heart and head set on making waves in 2019, you need to hear this.
DROP THE ANCHOR
Come on, we couldn’t share our take on the best podcasts around without mentioning our own could we? Drop The Anchor is a no-nonsense conversation of Helm members on everything from morning habits to marketing and more. It’s entrepreneurial and hilarious in equal measure, but don’t take our word for it, we’re biased; make a brew and have a listed for yourself.
